More Than Just Whiteboards
While we started with whiteboards, we’ve grown into so much more, offering a wide range of resources that support confident teaching and active learning. Our goal is to make it easier for teachers to do what they do best, and for students to feel proud of what they can achieve.
The Show-me Timeline
1976
Maurice Temple starts a business selling accountancy stationery in London. This then morphs into a larger business selling general stationery and office products.
1994
The Temple family sell the business and escape the city to Lowestoft – the most easterly town in Britain. The 2nd generation start a new business from a caravan in a garden.
1999
Numeracy and Literacy Hours launched into schools in England. Schools were looking for a way to easily do regular practice of key skills without using lots of paper. Show-me launched mini whiteboards as a cost-effective way to get a classroom full of answers.
2000
The first range of Show-me student whiteboard markers and accessories were developed to work with the mini whiteboards. The first class and bulk kits were sold shortly after this.
2004
The trade business, Eastpoint, was setup and started distributing Show-me products across the world.
2008
The best-selling medium tip Show-me whiteboard markers get their distinctive green barrels making them known to this day as ‘the green ones’.
2011
By 2011, the range had continued to grow, with it now including many different whiteboard designs created in collaboration with teachers as well as a wide range of erasers and cleaners – all created for the classroom.
Mini whiteboards can now be found in most schools across the UK.
2016
The Rapid Recall whiteboards are created by teachers for mastering the number part of the national curriculum.
These are introduced under the Propeller brand, using the Show-me surface technology.
They become an instant hit with many schools, where they are loved by pupils and teachers alike!
2020
The year of the dreaded ‘C’ word! Whiteboards saw a huge surge in popularity and we only just managed to keep up with the demand.
2021
We launched our patented mini whiteboards with a market-leading 2-year surface guarantee.
2022
Refillable whiteboard cleaner and refill sachets are launched to solve some of the sustainability requirements of schools.
2023
Flipchart markers are developed as an alternative to using whiteboard markers (which dry out quicker when used on paper).
These flipchart markers have a water-based formula for use on more absorbent materials rather than whiteboard surfaces.
2024
The Show-me brand gets a colourful redesign that is more playful and reflective of the classroom environment.
Bubble Handwriting Boards are developed as part of our ‘Teacher Designed’ programme to aid KS1 and KS2 learning development.
2025
Our range consolidation project starts, with favourites from Eastpoint’s other stationery brands, Classmaster, Swash and Re:Create, joining the Show-me family.
2026
More of the Eastpoint brands are migrating to Show-me, starting with Handwriting Pens, Highlighters & Glue Sticks.
